Ye fan going on a herb hunt, I can see it

Which of course is where they will attack him when he leaves the sect. I was so impressed after this episode I decided to start reading the novel today. I don't know if it was because I stayed up too late last night but the novel put me to sleep at least a dozen times! Its ...not quite the same story. The entire beginning part where he is driving his car so crazy and saving his college friends from the tidal waves...never happened in the novel. So far its been pretty slow.

Ikr... They should have just cut out the first 7 episodes

That fight scene was one of the most impressive I have ever seen in a 3d donghua. It rivals some of the FanRen stuff.

Although this and Fanren are really good, they still cannot compare to Zhen Dao Ge. Although they use 3d shaders to make it comic like, it is still 3d animation and everything about it is perfect. Good story and crazy animated fights. The biggest difference is how fluent and diverse animated movements are. Few levels above the two. Not to mention best fight camera movements complimenting action I ever saw.

But, one thing is both true for this one and Fanren. They both start absolutely mediocre and then burst into awesome

Zhen Dao Ge? I haven't seen that one. I will have to check it out. But I never watched Fan Ren because of the fight scenes. I watched it because I had read the novel (it was great!) and they did a bang up job of representing the novel in animated format. The awesomeness with how well they did some of the Fan Ren fight scenes was simply icing on the cake!

Zhen Dao Ge has really good story and most importantly it doesn't have the usual Chinese redundancies in novels, same thing that makes Fanren much better than most when looked from story wise perspective.

You only need to watch episode 1 to form opinion if you like it or not. From there it only gets better, 1st episode is already over the top action

I watched the 1st episode and I do agree with you, the action is already over the top. Among the best I have seen (and I am a martial artist myself! So, I tend to be rather critical of fighting scenes unless they are good.)

But, I will need to watch a few more episodes because so far the story hasn't really grabbed my attention yet. For example, compare to the 1st episode of Berserk (ok that's unfair I know but humor me.) 1st episode of Berserk was fucking crazy, then 2nd episode rewinds to before all that happens and tells the story for 23 episodes, then really 1st episode is really the 25th in chronological order. But the main point being crazy action (and the fight scenes were no where near as good as this but we are talking about 25+ years ago) but crazy action and gripping and interesting storyline.

Although story seems like simple revenge story, it is anything but that. Season 1 has extreme plot twist which leads into next events, but so far season 2 is still in the making, there was just OVA like episode

Well that felt short

Bruv unfortunately this is what happens when you don't want to be a burden to others, like mc doesn't dislike buff guy he's just disappointed in himself cause he thinks he can't do anything!, However when it comes to the buff guy he's just such a lovable character and wants to help out mc!, cause even tho he's the muscle guy he understands what mcs going through, and also cause he has a pure heart forged by god himself!

That fight scene was hella Awesome!! Tag teamed the hell out of those arseoles! xD

I forgot to say this before but the uncle looks like the villain from Mulan

I love their tag team fighting style…

The subs were crappy and difficult to understand.
